In 2021, Olympique de Marseille and its kit manufacturer put an OM Africa capsule on sale, made up of three jerseys celebrating the links between the Marseille football club and the African continent. These are not merely emotional: OM Africa is also the name of a vast programme including, notably, three football schools in Algiers, Tunis and Port Harcourt. The aim is to spot promising young individuals, train them, and integrate the best. The French team's squad must be regenerated. And its economic capital, once the players are resold to the highest bidder.
