Fontanelle Blindée is an installation made of 80 babies in armour, white porcelain soldiers laid out on the floor in formation. These figures with closed eyes are as much golem — the protective homunculus of Jewish mysticism — as crash-test dummy, built to take the impact for others.

Taken individually, each golem could pass for an apotropaic fetish, but as soon as it joins the setup it loses its singularity within the military cadence. The formation, a *détournement* of Malevich's White Cross — that emblematic sign of modernist utopia — becomes a matrix of sacrificial standardisation: in place of an impulse of regeneration, a logic of productivity asserts itself.

These miniature units are not designed to develop but to endure. Their function precedes their existence: integrated from the outset into a production protocol, they become substitutable entities operating within a utilitarian framework. They embody a form of bare life, available for use yet devoid of ontological value.
